Grant Overview


It is the purpose of the grant is to EMPOWER our North Slope Village Organizations through on-site trainings.

Who? 
Our training sessions are intended for all the village entities of the North Slope.
Such service entities are:
  • Native Village of (Your Village Here)
  • City of (Your Village Here)
  • Village/Tribal Corporations
Those who should attend our training sessions are:
  • New Employees
  • Current Employees
  • Board Members
  • Council Members
  • Corporation Members
What? 
Our primary trainings sessions cover:
  • Grants (Grant Writing, Accounting for Grants & Contracts)
  • Finance (Payroll Management, Retail & Enterprise Accounting)
  • Tribal Governance (Native Government Leadership & Issues)
  • Human Resource Management (Personnel Policies)
When?
This is the final year to take advantage of this program.  All training sessions will conclude by the end of January 2012.

Where? 
Education happens at your site.  This is at no cost to your entity.

Why?
It is the goal of this grant to provide further education so that our North Slope entities can sustain and train within.  Our trainings enhance your entity through organization and employee development that can lead to:
  • Eligibility for Grants
  • Community Building
  • Promotion of Cultural Identity
